Do you ever day dream about having a camera that combines the mobility of a camera phone, the lens of a dslr, and photoshop actions? This is what the camera WVIL, from Artefact inspires to do. The lens attaches to the frame simply with proximity, snapping together magically. This is made possible with the WVIL mount which uses magnets to automatically align and pull the units together. Two spring loaded latches snap into place automatically to secure the lens mechanically. A simple “pull” gesture removes it from the camera’s body. And that’s just the lens. The camera is based on accessible software that can be updated and plugins added rather than firmware that you see on current cameras.
Watch the demo to see this camera in action. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a launch date yet.
