Andrea Brugi / Furniture & Product

1 Posted by - January 25, 2011 - Design

Artist and craftsman, Andrea Brugi creates his pieces from found objects and raw materials that he finds in and around his home of Montemerano, an idyllic rural village in the Tuscany region of Italy. The shapes that he creates are shown to him by nature itself, altering their organic design only to reveal their new purpose. An old back shed on his family farm houses his ‘laboratorio’ and a ‘graveyard for beautiful old stuff’  that awaits his attention and their transformation into a new life. His pieces are both rustic and contemporary. His cutting boards soaked in the purest of olive oils, and his hand carved salt dishes would look stunning on any kitchen table. They are not only beautiful objects, but little pieces of a covetable lifestyle.
